Description issues@www 2001-07-06 07:21:12 UTC
During the installation of OO 6.0 build(s) 632 and 627, as well as Star Office
5.2, the installer attempts to locate Java, and offers the user the "browse"
button if it doesn't find it (well, even if it does).

It never specifies that the java version must be 1.2 or greater, leading to some
confusion.

Mot a major issue, since this is documented somewhere, but still.

Hi Kay,
I think it's up to you to fix this bug.
Comment 2 issues@www 2001-07-06 09:49:14 UTC
This appears to be in /oo_632_src/setup2/source/custom/jvmsetup/jvmdlg.src

At line 386 (in the oo_632 source code distribution) there it mentions java 1.2,
but I believe the line I saw was from line 540 (Message [ ENGLISH ] = "No Java
Runtime Environment was found.") or 541 (same line except english_us).
Another possibility is lines 795/796.

There is also some rather...difficult language constructs used in lines 940/941.
The phrase "In this dialog select" is a bit awkward, it would be better to have
"In this dialog box select". This reoccurs several times (lines 970/971 for
instance).

If you'd like I can make the fixes and send you a diff file.

Comment 7 christian.jansen 2003-02-10 12:27:24 UTC
In my opinion we should extend the information text, located on the
Java setup dialog by a minimum required version number.

In that case the text would change as follows:

GER
...benötigt %Productname%Productverion die Unterstützung durch ein
Java Runtime Environment in der Version 1.3.1 oder höher.

EN
...support of a Java Runtime Environment version 1.3.1 or later is needed.

If you think the proposal is OK, please send the task to Elizabeth so
that she could add the string to her data base. Thanks.
Comment 8 dirk.voelzke 2003-02-17 10:41:22 UTC
The proposal looks fine to me.
Comment 9 Joost Andrae 2003-02-17 11:23:21 UTC
JA: re-prioritized according to new priority guide lines
Comment 10 e.matthis 2003-03-03 11:49:34 UTC
Elizabeth->CJ: Please quote the entire text so I can find the old one
in the database. Then send to me at the "EM" account, please. Thx.

Note to Petro: In StarOffice we do not say "dialog box" but simply
"dialog". This is not an error.
