I can't find a place to indicate I would like a notification of any response to my posting.  

How do I confirm that I will receive a notification?

Where have you posted your message?

A notification for responses is not part of the mail list functionality.
You may want to subscribe to the list.

The forums (http://user.services.openoffice.org) allow to "subscribe to a topic".

getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity".
For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
