OOo Impress not honoring font size from MS PowerPoint 2007 file

Downstream bug may be found at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/695898 Binary package hint: openoffice.org WORKAROUND: 1. Export PPT file to PDF to view slide show in acroread or evince, export PPT to PDF and open via OOo Draw using OOo PDF Import extension, or open PPT file in MS Power Point Viewer 2007 via WINE to view slideshow. 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 2) apt-cache policy openoffice.org-impress openoffice.org-impress: Installed: 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status apt-cache policy wine1.3 wine1.3: Installed: 1.3.10-0ubuntu1~maverickppa1 Candidate: 1.3.10-0ubuntu1~maverickppa1 Version table: *** 1.3.10-0ubuntu1~maverickppa1 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) What is expected to happen is when one creates a presentation in MS PowerPoint 2007 and saves in .ppt format, opens up attached example.ppt file in OOo Impress, then runs the Slide Show, it looks the same as it does in Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 via WINE. 4) What happened instead is that some font sizes are larger in Impress (slide 6) than in MSPP. I do not have access to MSPP, nor does my friend who gave me the presentation (recently migrated to Ubuntu). The left text on page 6 is displayed different. But the fontsize seems to be the same (25), so the problem seems top be the font that looks different. The font bar tells me that the font should be "Goudy Old Style". Maybe this is not installed on your linux system ? Attaching screenshots.

wg, thank you for your help. I opened the example.ppt file in OOo Impress, highlighted the text on page 6, and the font box notes "Goudy Old Style", where font size is 25. Playing devil's advocate that the font is not installed but it's telling me it's in there anyways, I opened Synaptic Package Manager and searched for packages containing "Goudy", with no relevant results. If a relevant package to test with exists, I do not know what it is.
OOo has something called the fontsubstitution. If a used font is not present it is substituted with another, similar looking font. In this case there seems to be no fitting font is to be found... Reassigning. @sj: am I right with my suspicion?
