Trying to download OOo. The link defaults to Spanish. No dialog box with the 
option to change to English US.

please read the text in the link below "Get all platforms and languages, non-JRE
versions, language packs" resp. "Get all platforms and languages", when clicking
on this link you will get a list of all available builds, also for other languages
