Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11475
OOO_STABLE_1_PORTS/X11: Map Meta to Control for Command-key shortcuts
Last modified: 2007-02-05 03:47:27 UTC
The attached patch causes Meta/the Command key to be treated identically to a Control modifier. This allows for either Command or Control to be used to issue the OOo keybindings, making it a little more straightforward for Mac users to interact with the program. Hopefully in the future the three-modifier patch will be accepted by the gsl project, making this hack obsolete.

Ed, Completely Mac OS X specific, and therefore approved by me. If you don't get them in first, I'll commit the change tonight. Boy, won't this make asxless happy :) Dan
vcl.OOO_STABLE_1_PORTS.021303.patch committed to PORTS. Dan
According to Dan these patches have been integrated or are obsolete. If a patch has been missed feel free to reopen and assign the proper target milestone. http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7476
This particular issue is still open for discussion though, it was decided not to make it part of the default OOo code, but it may still be useful on Mac OS X. I purposefully did not close this issue because of that. We could retarget? However, these changes should probably go into OOo code #ifdefed for OS X.

This fix (slightly updated) has been committed by Kevin to cws_srx645ooo112fix2 : <http://porting.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=27945>
So the target milestone is 1.1.2 (and will be merged to 2.0 at some point of time).
is this still an issue for 1.1.x ?
This is already fixed in at least 1.1.4.
Closing issue. Meta keymapping is now in an Applescript for OOo 2.0. James McKenzie
