Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 114077
Insert - Link to External Data - HTML table corrupts in Calc
Last modified: 2010-11-15 18:58:34 UTC
I have a spreadsheet to do some computing and graphing of values from the my World Community Grid statistics page. I save the current statistics to my hard drive, and have a link in the spreadsheet to update from the saved stats file. This worked fine in Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron). I believe the OO version was 2.4. I recently upgraded to 10.4 (Lucid Lynx). Now there is data corruption in the spreadsheet when I update the link. I have a sample WCG stats file, of only 30 days' data, and it has the same problem. I'll try to upload the file and a spreadsheet from it showing the problem.

You can see the problem in cells A11 (and B11). The HTML file renders OK in FireFox, as well as KompoZer, the Ubuntu HTML editor.
Oh darn, the Additional comments go in a separate block - I should have put it all in the initial description, as well as Thanks very much, Ray
BTW, it's in the ArsTechnicaWCG.ods spreadsheet, but it's table # 6 I'm trying to link to ("HTML_6"). Okay, I just tried the same thing on my Windows 7 box, with the same bad result. I was originally on version 3.2.0, then I upgraded it to version 3.2.1 (000320m18 [build 9502]). Both versions had the same problem. BTW, why don't I just select the data table in FireFox, then cut it and paste it into a spreadsheet? Because my "real" spreadsheet has about 430 data rows, and when I try to paste that many rows into Calc, it freezes up on my Ubuntu box (my main PC, with a Core 2 Duo at 3.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM). And the link method worked fine and non-manually.
Same as issue 109987, already fixed in 3.3 RC builds. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 109987 ***
