Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 11389
Writer scales fonts incorrectly in .doc files.
Last modified: 2004-04-26 17:21:03 UTC
I have a number of .doc files created using MS Word 2000. When I open them in Writer, there seems to be a problem with the font scaling. Although the margins, font sizes, etc. are all identical, text runs off the end of a page where it never used to, ie. a page's worth of text suddenly becomes a page-and-two-lines' worth. It seems as if Writer is interpreting the fonts to be larger than in Word 2000. Please help. I apologise if this has already been covered but I couldn't find any matching issues in the Issue Finder, which I found a little confusing at first.
Could this be related to incompatibilities between styles? I saw a few other web pages which suggested that differing style settings can caues text flow problems.
OK, i have found that this problem seems to relate to zoom settings. I have created a webpage about this: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/stacymouse/ooozoomproblem.htm Please help, someone.
Thank you for using and supporting OOo. Does this problem still exist in 1.0.3.1? If so, please attach the document that consistently reproduces this problem.
