Colombian currency incorrect: Should be simply "$" instead of "C$"
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:02:50 UTC
Under regional settings (and spreadsheet cell's format), the currency for Colombia (currency code COP) should be simply "$" instead of "C$"
This is similar to #6478 but it's not a duplicate (different country ;)
True, this is incorrect and shows up as C$ instead of $.
DL->ER: Would you please takeover?
@Jorge: Are you sure that it's only "$"? It is listed as "Col$" at the following pages: http://geo.ya.com/travelimages/currencies-cf.html http://www.globalwebarch.com/freesite/RDBMS-GG-C04-5.html http://home1.gte.net/gomezedg/Economy.htm However, the ICU Locale Repository lists it as "$" in the various formats under http://oss.software.ibm.com/cvs/icu/locale/ I tend to believe that.
They probably list it as col$ because the name of the currency (peso) could be confused with a number of countries who also use it. But inside the country it's never used like that; not on financial reports, or newspapers... nowhere. The currency symbol for us is plain $.
