Description herzel 2010-02-06 01:30:07 UTC
When making subscripts or superscripts, and after saving the file and opening it
again, the characters get funny attributes and get way high or way low, the font
size change (for example from 12 to 7) and it is very difficult to fix.

I can send a sample file but I do not see a way to do it on this page.

I see that the subscripts in your file are not defined in the same way, some are
automatic (e.g. TA2), some other are manually defined (HfSiO4). Please could
describe step by step how you have written this subscripts ?

Yes, inthe file we can only see that the values are wrong. did these change
automatically during saving process or did anyone change the formatting manually?
As JBFaure already mentioned, when this happened automatically by OOo, we need a
step by step description how you came to these incorrect formattings.

Hi: Well, this is how it happned: I received a DOC file with some subscripts
and superscripts in it. I have added some text, and in the added text were some
more sub/sup. I made them using the format - character. I changed to Subscript.
I said OK. it looked fine.

I then saved the file, in DOC format. I need to do this since this is the way I
then need to send it back. When opening the file, the sub/sup were out of line.
When highlighting a character, it was changed to font 7, and in the format-
character the raise/lower was 1% and the relative font size was 100%. The
sub/sup that were originally in the file that I have received stayed good.

Inside format-character I needed to click on the Normal, then on the subscript
to bring it back to the correct attributes of raise/lower of 33% and relative
size of 58%, then OK and then change the font size back to 12. But it still do
not look exactly the same.

Thanks

OK, this is an essential information - you exported to .doc format.
Currently I am not able to reproduce the described problem with my test
documents. It would be good if you could attach your original .doc file (which
does not show the problem) to this issue.
Thank you very much!
