Description dc6mb 2010-02-04 09:48:52 UTC
A single page document with one embedded EPS-graphic with 4bit-TTF-preview will
print out as a blank sheet without any error message from a printer using
original AdobePS (no emulated PS!). Printer was "TI MicroLaser PowerPro PS23".
Thereafter I printed to file via "Adobe Generic Postscript Printer" and
processed the file via "GSVIEW32 Ver. 4.9" and "Ghostscript 8.63".
The final result is a blank sheet on the GSVIEW screen (not any error message),
but for a short moment the text part of the doc could be seen.
Apparently OOO is printig the graph past the text and overlays the text with
white space.
The print job file contains two preambles for one page! Although the page format
used was "A4 landscape", the second preamble states "portrait".
If needed, I can mail the .odf and the resulting .ps file.
Using the OOO PDF export function delivers a blank sheet as well.

MRU->PL: there seems to be a general problem with files like this, IMO. I did
not get the described problem, but I printed the attached document to file with
a PS driver and OOo looped.
Comment 5 dc6mb 2010-02-19 09:48:57 UTC
There may be 2 reasons for looping:
a) You didn´t have INSTALLED the used fonts (running Windows it´s not sufficient
   to copy the fonts only)
b) Probably the use of German "umlauts" under US-EN_Windows w/o installed
foreign language support can cause trouble.
I have no looping problems, but the blank sheet printing problem exists always,
no matter using PS- or TTF-fonts or using "umlauts" or not.
Printing to a PS-printer or file takes detectable time w/o any error message, so
IMO:
OOO prints the text at first and the graph at last but:
OOO doesn´t consider the bounding box of the EPS graph and therefore overlays
the whole page with non transparent whitespace background.
After printing the page to a PS file i heavily loaded my PC with many parallel
tasks to slow it down. When loading the PS file now into Ghostview/Ghostscript,
the text could be seen for a short moment before overlight with whitespace.
