Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 10869
address data source autopilot fails
Last modified: 2003-10-27 17:50:53 UTC
I've installed openoffice 1.0.2 in a debian system with glibc 2.2.5. Both installs (in the system and workstation install as user) worked without any error. But when I try to run openoffice ($HOME/OpenOffice.org1.0.2/soffice), the Address Data Source Autopilot is ran, and it always fails: I select Mozilla/Netscape 6.x and press [Next>>] Then it shows me that I have to select between "Collected Addresses" and "Personal Address Book", and without selecting or pressing any button a window error pop-ups saying: "An unrecoverable error has occurred. All modified files have been saved and can probably be recovered at program restart. [OK]". When I press OK it dies with "Abort" exit code. Ideas? If you need more info just ask me.
Hi Marc, any solutions?
Hi, As far as I can see you have make a network installation ( start setup with /net ) and that you have make a user installation from the network installation path. Is that right? If so, as what user , root or normal user , you have make the user installation and as what user you have start the OOo? It is important that you start OOo as the same user you have make the user installation. Can you please check this. Bye Marc
Yes, I installed OOo as root with "./setup -net", and later as a user, the workstation installation. Well, I've found where is the problem: I've LANG=es_ES, and that breaks soffice, the document window is self closed at startup, but the window with the address data source autopilot still works for a while. After "unset LANG", soffice starts ok, document window is not closed, and address autopilot seems to work. Regards, Rover.
