This has occurred with Mac OOo 3.1.1 also and with OS 10.5.8. You have a
document with an imported image and after working with the document for a while,
sometimes after a save the image vanishes and is replaced by a frame stating
"Read-Error" and sometimes mixed with pieces of text. You've lost it for good.

I cannot confirm this with my test documents from the scratch. Could you please
attach a document where this happens? We need a document where the graphics are
displayed fine and then when editing and saving the document the graphics will
be corrupted.
