When I try to save a file to a directory with insufficient permissions,
OpenOffice.org 643 word processor crashes. I didn't create an error log this
time, but if it happens again, I'll post the error log.

I get the error message about access denied as expected.
May you have more details to reproduce.
The errorlog doesn't help, it is also possible that another
application in background could be the reason.

I found out some additional information. It only complains if you use 
the OpenOffice load/save dialogs, and if a directory is selected in 
the dialog. Even if you type in a file name, it'll complain, then 
crash.

I tested with the own and also with the system dialog and couldn't
reproduce a crash.
I guess a conflict in your system.
Close all applications so only OO is running alone and compare. 
Else describe me the permission from the target folder.

In cause of that i can't reproduce, this task is closed as works for me.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved
<wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for
details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
