OS: 
Ubuntu 9.10

Hardware:
Dell D620 laptop
4Gb memory

When opening or creating a document in writer which has many images, Writer will
stop responding for anywhere between 20 seconds to hanging the machine completely.
At this time OOo is using 100 percent of the CPU.  
I have tried creating a document with no images in it at all and can put as much
text as I want without the hanging.
May or may not be relevant, but the unresponsiveness seems to occur after around
10 images in the document.

Please attach a sample document.
Check this again in a native OOo build from our site.
Are the images embedded in the document or link (Internet linked)?

Cannot reproduce either with native build on ubuntu. Please use the one from OOo
homepage.
