Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 10618
Crash on paging down to second page
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
In the document (which I'll attach to this), whenever I tryto move down to the second page, OO crashes.
Created attachment 4280 [details] Document leading to the crash
Could you check this with your Limux please. It doesn't occur in xp.
Not reproducible (on RH 8.0) either. Neither with or with out "Trebuchet MS" and "Courier New" installed. The document intensively uses "Trebuchet MS" and "Courier New". These fonts are normally not available on Linux. Thus OOo performs a font substitution, and matches to any other font, which should look similar. Now this one may be corrupt on your system. Pls. try to find out which font on your system is corrupt and crashes OOo. When you have isolated the font, pls. attach it to this issue. Thx. BTW. what distri. do you use?
I don't think font is the problem, because: 1. I already have Trebuchet MS and Courier New installed (from my Windows partition) 2. These fonts are the default fonts for my GNOME system and they run fine. 3. Other documents use these fonts without any problems. 4. I substituted these fonts (Trebuchet MS -> Verdana and Courier New -> Courier) using the font substitution table and the doc still crashes. I'm using a customized RedHat 7.3 system. A point of interest might be that this document was generated form a MS Word doc. That doc file is also crashing, so this is probably not related to the format. Any pointers on how I can pinpoint the cause of the crash ? The core file tells me nothing undfortunately :-( Probably because binaries are stripped ? Or maybe the crash occurred in a dlopen()ed module ? The thing I notice most is that it crashes just when it is trying to draw the first bullet on the second page. Rgds, Biswa.
Thank you for using OOo.org Does this problem still exist in OOo 1.0.3.1? Unable to duplicate on RH 9, OOo 1.0.3.1
Closing the issue. No additional comments from the user. If the problem still exists in the soon to be released 1.1 version of OOo, please file a new issue.
