Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 102965
Open ppt or odp file with all text properities set to "Resize Shape To Fit Text"
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:21:02 UTC
Anytime I open a .ppt file, or a .odp file, when I select text that was created using the "Text" button the blue grip points show but, there is no dashed border indicating that the text box is shaped to fit the text within. Going to format in the toolbar and text in the drop down menu proves that the selected text is not "resize shape to fit text." When I do check this option for all of my text in the presentation and save and close the presentation, the same issue shows up the minute I open the presentation again.

I do not understand the problem.
When you use the text command in impress to add text to a presentation and you type anything in. While the text is selected go to format and text you will see that there is a check mark beside the options " Fit Height to Text" and Resize Shape to Fit Text." Now when you save that file and close it and then open it again and go through the same steps you will see that your text options have changed like shown in my attachment. This makes it harder to move the text with your mouse because there is no longer a border surrounding the text like there was when you first made it and the mouse doesn't change to the move symbol. This means to move my text now i have to use the arrows on my keyboard.
Can't ocnfirm that. @tm007: please read our guidelines on <http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html> and <http://www.openoffice.org/bugs/bug_writing_guidelines.html>, then contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error messages ...), _every_key_press_and_every_mouse_click_ how to reproduce the problem Starting with "Menu 'File - New - Presentation'"), and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected. That means (for example): do not write something like „I am not able to ...“, but „6. left mouse click on … expected: …, colour of … changes, … actual: no …., colour remains white, no … Attach as ample document!
I am sorry. I just read your response and checked my facts and realized that I only have this issue when I save the presentation in .pp format. I will type proper instructions and include a document. Thanks
Reproducible. Reassigned.
