Description jeongkyu.kim 2009-06-03 03:47:12 UTC
Some glyphs in certain true type fonts are missing in printed output. For
example, when UnDotum font is used, '리' is missing in printed output.

Interestingly, this problem does not happen with GNOME applications such gedit.
Also, there is no problem when print the document into file(.ps) or export the
document into pdf. I experienced this problem only when print the document with
OpenOffice.org to CUPS printer (or CUPS-PDF driver).

How to reproduce,

1. Install CUPS-PDF.
2. Open the attached test doc.
3. Print the doc using CUPS-PDF.
4. Check if all characters are printed correctly.

@ hi: Please have a look.
Comment 6 hdu@apache.org 2009-06-08 11:47:52 UTC
It would be interesting what the "print to file" for a postscript printer does. Does the resulting postscript
file render fine in ghostscript? If yes, then this looks like a cups-pdf problem.
Comment 7 hdu@apache.org 2009-06-08 12:57:55 UTC
I just saw that the *.ps result was already mentioned. It would be interesting what it looks like for
different levels of postscript support (see the *LanguageLevel" entry in the corresponding PPD)
Comment 8 jeongkyu.kim 2009-06-10 04:09:12 UTC
@hdu: Thanks for your feedback. As you pointed out, 'print to file' result(.ps)
is OK. This problem only happens in real printer and CUPS-PDF driver.

I don't have expertise on CUPS, but let me know if there is anything I can help
such as getting debugging information, etc.

Verified with OOo3.1m11 = Not reproducible.
I've installed cups-pdf & the attached font.
I'll attach my result.

@jeongkyu
You've set as version "Current"
Which version you exactly use?

@hi: Thank you for checking it. I confirmed the issue with DEV300m49(vanilla) &
OOo300m15(ubuntu) on Ubuntu 9.04. Please let me know the Linux distro you've
tested this issue on. I will check this issue on the same environment as you.
Comment 13 jeongkyu.kim 2009-06-22 21:23:05 UTC
@hi: I found there is no problem in the attached ps. However, isn't CUPS-PDF
supposed to output PDF file? If you don't mind, please print the document into
PDF format using CUPS-PDF driver and check the result again. Thanks!
Comment 14 jeongkyu.kim 2009-06-23 18:18:20 UTC
Let me reopen this issue because the attached result from developer does not
show this issue is not reproducible. Please note this issue is about PDF or
paper output through CUPS driver.
