Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 102193
Impress: PDF-Export of "Selection" export whole presentation (print only selected slides)
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:39:06 UTC
To reproduce the behavior: 1. Create a new presentation in Impress 2. Create at least two slides with random content 3. Mark one single slide in the left sidebar. 4. Use the menu "File->Export as PDF" 5. Select "Selection" as export area on the general tab 6. The created PDF-file will nevertheless contain the whole presentation. This behavior is unwanted, I think. An PDF-export with the "Selection" setting generates the same pdf result as an export with the "Everything" setting. It would be nicer to only get the selected slides here. There is a workaraound, though: Just use the "Pages" option and type in the desired page numbers.
Actually a "Selection" would be exported if you had something selected, namely e.g. some shapes on the pages. For just exporting some pages, please use the page rage button. @sj: would it be feasible to recognize the selection in the slide sorter also ?
reassign
This seems to happen with Writer as well. I select two pages out of a thirty-page file, then choose "File/Export", choose Type=PDF and click the button for "Selection", but when it exports I still get the whole file.
confirming. In current version, there option for selection is disabled if only slides are selected in the slide pane, so you won't run into the problem unknowingly. When in slide sorter view however, the export offers "selection" but then produces empty PDF. Emtpy is the wrong word. It is a huge pane (3528 × 3528 mm) with no content.
