Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 101729
Emtry "Check for update" don't removed if the updatechecker is closed
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:50:34 UTC
You can recreate the bug as follows: 1. Help --> Check for Updates... 2. Close the "Check for Updates" window 3. Right click the OOo3.1 icon in your dock, in the menu you can find an item called "Check for Updates" above the "File" submenu. Please click the item "Check for Updates" 4. Try to close the "Check for Updates" window -- you will find it cannot be closed -- neither using "close" button or red "close" icon in the up- right corner So the only thing you can do to close the window is to restart the OOo

can you confirm it?
No, I'm not able to reproduce it. I tested it with OOo 3.2 and 3.1 on OSX 10.6.x both works fine. Please add more informations like witch Mac OS X Version you use. And please test it with the actual Version. else I will close it as works for me. Thanks!
Ok, I see the problem. But it's a little bit different to you description. The Updatechecker close properly. But the Menu called by the right click on te OpenOffice.org.app at the dock don't remove the empty. So if You click on the "dead emptry" "Check for Update" then the check for update Dialog open again. Assignet at Porting Project
