Description Peter 2002-12-17 14:20:55 UTC
ornaments like vec, hat, bar ... are positioned atop of the
modified symbol instead of putting them "in the same place".
The current results are unacceptable for scientific typesetting.

TL: Everything is fine.
Probably because you added a sxm file and not a PDF and due to the
fact that the problem is already fixed in the version I use.

If you don't mind to use non-public developer versions please update
to OO 643C.

TL->MRU: Yours now.
Comment 4 Peter 2002-12-17 17:09:37 UTC
I have updatet to 643C. Additionally I
- removed the 1.0.1 ttf font opens___.ttf manually from
  WINNT/Fonts
- installed the 643C's opens___.ttf font into WINNT/Fonts

Now it's even worse than before: most greek symbols are missing.
Cf. enclosed examples. Please take a look into PDF exported version:
Here even the latin chars are missing.

In case that you're using Windows:
Did you restart the computer?

Sometimes the registration of the fonts is not correctly done and
this gets fixed by restarting.
This would account for "some greeks symbols" and all mathematical
symbols missing.

Please give it a try with restarting the computer.
When you open the Writer application and open the "Insert/Special
character" dialog you should find the OpenSymbol font listed now.
If that is the case it should work in OO643C.

The issue that the bars etc. are displayed too high is also described
in issue #3780 and is fixed in OpenOffice 643C.

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 3780 ***
Comment 11 michael.ruess 2002-12-18 09:41:18 UTC
Closed, because duplicate.
The other thing (greek symbols do not work) is not reproducible with
OO 643C and also not relevant for the original issue. If it still
occurs, open a seperate issue for it.
Comment 12 Peter 2002-12-18 10:54:35 UTC
It works OK now after uninstall-reboot-install-reboot.

Thanks for your advice.

(PDF export/font problems still there, print as PS/ghostscript
seems OK.)
Comment 13 thomas.lange 2002-12-18 13:11:39 UTC
Due to a small bug with TrueType fonts (which is already fixed but is
not yet integrated in OpenOffice) you should use Acrobat Reader 5.0
to view the PDF output.

This should solve the PDF problem.
If there is still any problem left with PDF export please drop a note.

Comment on 1.0.2: After 643C was OK. Error shows up again in 1.0.2
(regression?)
Comment 15 michael.ruess 2003-01-21 10:49:36 UTC
No, not regrsseion. The fix went into the 643 branch, which means it
is fixed for 643 or newer branches. OO 1.0.2 is an improved version of
1.0.1 (which both base on the 641 branch; you can see it in the
Help/About box).
