Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 100931
debian desktop integration kills menu entries for previous OO versions
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:44:29 UTC
The same as http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=93564 for OOo 3.0 was. If a new version will be installed beside an older version, the menu entries should not be overwritten.
Installing OOo 3.1 with 'dpkg -i' will update an existing OOo 3.0.x version. That's the expected behavior. Installing several OOo versions beside is not a use case. Especially not the desktop integration.
won't be fixed
I reopen these old issue because my opinion is, if a new version is _not_ an update of an installed version, so the icons of the previous version and furthermore installed version should not be killed. I can have OOo2, OOo3, AOO4 installed on Ubuntu at the same time. But I can have only one set of icons for the version that is installed at last.
