A complicated sxw file w/multi sections, when saved as Flat XML and reopened (as
Flat XML) reopens with only first few sections visible.

I have a developer's guide written and tried to save as flat xml (to take
advantage of our CVS diffs.) It is a 66 page document with several sections,
but when I reopen the flat xml file, only the first 11 pages are opened.
Coincidentally (or not) the 11th page is the end of our first section. However,
opening the flat xml file in a text editor shows that all my sections are
physically stored in the flat xml file.

I have tried to reproduce this in a document with only one or two pages by
adding 3-4 sections, but that works fine.

I tried to install 643C on my linux machine to test, but it always segfaulted
whenever opening any file. I ended up reinstalling 643.

I have verified this on several installations, so I don't think it's my
particular computer. I've even had friends try this out on their machines to
verify I'm not on crack.

I will upload the sxw file and the flat xml file so you can verify. You don't
actually need the XML file, but I'll send anyway. Simply open the sxw file,
save as Flat XML, close OpenOffice, open OpenOffice and open the Flat XML file.
Only the first 11 or so pages will come up.

The attached flat XML file in fact is broken (it conatins a <?xml
...?> within the text. However, I've tried to export the sxw document
once again as flat XML file, and this file is okay.

Maybe Aidan can give us a hint whether where was a bug fix some time ago.

aidan: I'd be delighted! The <?xml version="1.0"?> tag comes from the
content of the document. In the older version of the XFlatXml.jar,
entities such as < > & etc. , were not escaped properly. This causes
the < to be output as "<" instead of "<".This has been fixed, and
the new version will be in the next release.

until then, an updated version can be downloaded from
http://framework.openoffice.org/source/browse/framework/filter/source/jars/XFlatXml.jar
