If you use "Documents To Go" to synchronise spreadsheets between your
PC and your Palm, the
spreadsheets created with Excel are processed just
fine, but those created (or saved) with OO
(in the .xls format, of course) will freeze Documents To Go.

I use French Versions of Windows
95, OOo 1.0.0 and Documents To Go 4.006.

Documents to Go (the desktop part of it) has to create a
"reduced" version of a spreadsheet before feeding it to the Palm. The process apparently
involves calling the spreadsheet application. Documents To Go somehow detects what
application is the "owner" of the .xls file. If it is Excel, fine, but if it is OO, then OO is called
but never responds (freezes ?), hence freezing Documents to Go.
