Do you use a Matrox graphik device? If yes, please use the newest
driver or turn down the hardware acceleration one step in the display
settings. A known matrox driver problem

Hardware is ATI Rage Mobility on an IBM Thinkpad A22. Problem is now
worse. Uninstall failed, removed Program files directory, but now I
cant un-install nor will install work as it says its already
installed.

How to I remove completely to start again ?

Try cleaning your registry of any references to OpenOffice,
then reinstalling -- and please, when you reinstall,
try the latest version of OpenOffice (1.1beta as of this writing).

There are a bunch of tutorials out there on cleaning the registry,
but essentially you just run regedit, search for openoffice,
and delete any key that matches. Be careful, as you can
hurt your installation of windows if you delete the wrong thing.

Either a system problem, or a 1.0 glitch... we may never know.
If it happens with 1.1beta, please file a new issue.

Closing this issue due to old age.

I have exactly the same problem with 1.1.1 final.

How can I find something about the problem? There is no error log. Can I turn on
debugging or something like that?
