Joost->Falco: reassigned as RFE to you... just my 2 cents: don't know if a progress bar is that good (besides that it's difficult to know what percentage is already done), but something like "doint this currently", "doing that currently" (similar to for instance Netscape 4.5x or some graphics programs) perhaps could not hurt ... My main issue with the splash screen is that it's a "stay-on-top" window (at least on Linux/KDE), so I cannot continue working, or reading the screen contents etc, until OO is fully loaded. It would be much less annoying if I could click on another window and continue working until the OO window appears. The problem that the splash screen it always on top is issue 4133. Closing as fixed because OOo 1.1 has a progress bar on the splash screen. If you feel this has not been resolved satisfactorily, please re-open this issue with your comments. really closing. |
