Reassigned to Wolfram. Issue closed. Sorry wrong comment in wrong issue. Issue NOT closed. Reassigned to Falko. Downloaded RC2 for Windows and Linux - i386. In Windows, I can insert a placeholder for a movie as an OLE Object, Insert->Object->OLE Object. The icons for video, and sound for that matter, cannot he selected. During the actual slide presentation, the first frame shows up as an image, but that is all. A separate viewer is spawned during slide editing. In Linux, I can insert a placeholder for a movie correctly Insert->Object->Video. However, I get a white box as a placeholder for the movie, and then text "starting plugin /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/mplayerplug-in.so ..." However, that is all I get when I try to show the presentation. Still occurs under linux on RC4. Have not tried under Windows. it is planned for 2.0 if I didnt forget FT->CL: Is it planned for 2.0? If yes please close this as duplicate. Thorsten, is there already an issue for supporting JMF in OOo 2.0? If so please close this issue as duplicate. If not, you can use this issue Kai, would you like this feature request to serve as the master bug for JMF? should be possible with OOo 2.0 Changed target milestone . Fixed according to Media Player spec on http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/media_player/MediaPlayer.sxw verified on CWS jmf2 reopened for QA assignment reassigned to QA rep resolved *** Issue 33946 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** I just downloaded the latest development snapshot (1.9.m54) for Linux and installed it. When I create a new presentation and try to insert a movie, I get "The format of the selected file is not supported". I've tried quicktimes, MPEG-1 movies and AVIs generated by mencoder. All of these movies play without problem on the same linux machine. Therefore, it seems that this issue is not resolved. Movies still cannot be inserted. This issue is almost the same as i4645 and i6880. For an easier handling I set two of the issues as duplicates. Because of a problem of jmf usage this this will be testable after intergration of a certain CWS (preseng01). This works now under linux if you have jmf installed and the right settings under /tools/options/java. But only a few avi files get played, a lot of other formats are not supported. Tested in m65.
