Reassigned to MRU
Comment 3 michael.ruess 2004-01-21 12:21:32 UTC
For the "wrong translated" characters I'll file a new issue and post the ID
here. It is not an import problem; the symbols from the Windows-only font
"Wingdings" cannot be replaced by suitable symbols from the OpenSymbol font.

MRU->CMC: the graphic on page one is available twice after import.
Comment 4 michael.ruess 2004-01-21 12:38:33 UTC
FOnt problem with bullet symbols is now handled with issue 24634.

The single graphic that causes the problem
Comment 6 caolanm 2004-01-22 10:54:17 UTC
That extra graphic really does exists in the document, except that in word its
positioned -9.9 cm vertically, i.e. above the visible area of the document. In
the current version of writer we cannot use such negative vertical values for
this type of anchoring.

cmc->od: Is this ability to be resolved in workspace swobjpos02 ? Or is there an
existing feature request belonging to you in this area ?

The final attachment is the cut down example of this problem.
Comment 7 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2004-01-22 11:40:16 UTC
The Writer 'captures' all objects, which are positioned outside the page. This
isn't changed in cws swobjpos02 and will not be changed for OOo 2.0. But, we are
planning (with priority P4) to change the 'capturing'. We propose the following:
Instead of moving such an misplaced object completely on the page, we will allow
that objects may leave the page as long as a to-be-defined amount of the object
area is still on the page.
Thus, take over this issue to address this improvement, change the issue type to
'enhancement', and adjust the summary text.
Comment 8 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2004-03-19 12:24:08 UTC
OD->MRU:
Please check, if this P4 enhancement have to be done for OOo 2.0.
Comment 9 michael.ruess 2004-06-17 15:33:55 UTC
No, I don't think, that this is a heavy cmpatibility issue which needs to be
done for OO 2.0. Placing objects this way will not need an immediate fix in OO.
