Please give a detailed walkthrough for installation. I assume that your installation has unsufficient user rights. 1. I deinstalled the old version of OOo (beta2) with setup 2. after "tar xvzf", I started the setup program of the RC as normal user "jur". 3. pressed ok until I reached the point, where I could choose the "userdefined installation", where I installed everything there is. 4. I took the default directory /home/jur/OpenOffice.org1.1 5. I used the installed Java, (Java Development Kit 1.4.1_02) 6. the install asked me, if the existing file "fonts.dir" should be replaced by a new one, where I said "yes, replace everything" 7. waiting 8. install was finished 9. starting /home/jur/OpenOffice.org1.1/soffice showed me the described behaviour In case it helps, I am using the Suse8.2 distribution. known issue *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 16872 *** fixed in next release |
