Created attachment 0 I do not know why the system doesn´t recognize the attachment in this issue here. Jacek, please send your document directly to me, so that we can work around the problem with OOo´s issue database. Thank you, Michael (michael.ruess@sun.com) Actually, I think we can close this issue. Here is the whole story: the DOC I originally had totally crashed an earlier build, but opened fine in 638C. However, 638C crashed on another DOC, which what I tried sending to you yesterday. However, I was having a lot of problems with 638C everywhere: it was GPFing left, right and center on nearly anything I touched, something that no one else seems to be complaining about. it was more unstable than a beta build of Windows 1.0 on a 286 :-) So, I uninstalled it (I had previously unistalled any older versions as well) and manually deleted the directory to get rid of any files that might still be there. Then I reinstaled 638C into a brand new directory. All of a sudden everything started working and 638C was able to read in both DOCs without problems. So, there might be some sort of issue with the 638C installer (I assure you I uninstalled the previous builds before upgrading to it), because clean re-install to a fresh directory made all these GPFs (including the one on opening the DOC) go away. OK, so it seems to work correctly now, i´ll close this issue. Closed. |
