rbrace will not display, export to PDF or print correctly in linux version.  
Bug is not present in windows version.

I agree. This might be related to issue 12557. OO 1.1 beta supplied a
damaged OpenSymbol font. The font delivered with beta2 does not have
the problem anymore. Also in issue #12557 a corrected font could be found.
