I would like to input japanese as I am studying. I am able to input japanese in
Mozilla and also gedit and other applications, but I am
not able to input Japanese in any of the Openoffice applications.

Component of this bug it is ja/www.
ja/www is a component for the problem of a ja.openoffice.org web site
content.
Please re-set to l10n Component.

and... "owner" and "qa contact" is default of ja/www component.
Please change "Assigned To" field is dl@openoffice.org, 
and change "QA Contact" field is issues@l10n.openoffice.org.

The Issue you raised has the status 'New' pending further action, but has not
been updated within the last 4 years. Please consider re-testing with one of the
latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed.

Please confirm on recent version. No type of input program was specified. 
Needs more information.

please change the summary to something human-readable in English. Google says 日本語で書いてどうですか？ is "How is it written in Japanese?"

I updated the summary according to the description of the report. 
Needs keyword such as input method is preferred.
