Description maand 2002-12-12 21:21:54 UTC
Though for many users OOo is a good choice working
on text documents, spreadsheet or presentations,
there is a main argument for not using OOo (instead of ms
office).
In the past ms office established an industry standard
for programming office: VB (i.e. VBA coming along
with ms office).
Since this is essential (if used) it is not only "nice to
have"
but a "must" for companies to have something like
a VBA2BASIC or VBA2JAVA compiler when asked for migration
criteria.
Comment 1 maand 2002-12-14 10:09:56 UTC
I changed the Priority to 1, because I think that Priority 1 is the
highest.
Comment 2 ooo 2002-12-19 10:32:00 UTC
This issue is addressed, but outside of my responsibility.
Comment 3 kay.ramme 2002-12-19 13:49:59 UTC
This is quite a big feature and I am currently investigating, so I
don't know
when we will be able to achieve this...
Comment 4 Unknown 2003-01-24 14:47:16 UTC
Priority 1 seems to be justified! At the same time a kind of Object
Browser similar to VBA should be incorporated to the Basic IDE.
Comment 5 kay.ramme 2003-04-10 09:58:24 UTC
This is basically an RFE, which does not lie in my direct interest.
Please feel free to find somebody else, to implement this.
Comment 6 andreas.martens 2003-05-23 12:14:12 UTC
I don't think that I'm the right person to implement this.
BTW: I'm _not_ identical with andreasma@openoffice.org. I'm
ama@openoffice.org.
It's an RFE and so I send it to Falko.
Comment 7 thorsten.ziehm 2003-07-07 09:33:33 UTC
Change priority from 1 to 2.
This is one of the major enhancements we want to integrate in OOo 2.0.
But this is not a reason for priority 1.
Comment 8 falko.tesch 2003-09-10 14:14:22 UTC
Bettina: Can you please verify that this will make it still into 2.0?
If yes please close this one. Thx.
Comment 9 bettina.haberer 2004-01-29 11:52:01 UTC
After a final discussion with development: there is no chance to get that big
feature integrated. It can be handled as an own OO.o project.
Comment 10 bettina.haberer 2004-01-29 11:54:28 UTC
Closed.

Hi All,

Please look at
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=27344
There is work for VBA by Michael Meeks of Ximian there. Discussion in
Framework List. I hope other people will help Michael Meeks.
Thanks
