Announcing Apache OpenOffice 3.4

Secwepemc OpenOffice.org

Secwepemc OpenOffice.org is a project to translate OpenOffice.org into Secwepemctsín. Secwepemctsí is one of 60 Indigenous Languages of Canada. It is our hope that the localization and translation of software into our langauge will help with langauge revitalization.

The Secwepemc Language translation has come along way since last year. We have a project page here.

The current focus is on developing the hunspell dictionary, which can be viewed from the CVS page.

The Secwepemc Cultural Education Society has agreed to release the wordlist under the LGPL version 3. Kukstsemc.

Apache OpenOffice is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
