Participating in projects

When you click the top-level Projects tab, a list of projects is displayed. If you click the link for one of the projects, its home page is displayed, and you can participate in the project as a guest or as a member.

A default project (one that does not use a process template) provides you with a set of tools for such activities as:

• Tracking issues
• Working with source code
• Communicating with other team members.

Participating in a default project involves becoming a member, and using the project tools to do your work. See Learning about projects and Tools for project members for details.

A project that uses a project template is characterized by a page navigator in the left navigation pane such as the following:

A process-based project optionally displays a stage toolbar such as the following:

As a member of a process-based project, in addition to being able to access all of the tools described in Tools for project members, you can use the resources described in Participating in a process-based project. These additional resources include:

• Specialized pages for each defined stage of the process.
• Specialized queries for finding issues and tasks that are relevant to that stage.
• Document templates and completed documentation to guide work for the stage.
