Description Unknown 2002-11-27 21:00:51 UTC
After installation Open Office presents user with a screen to either register
the installation, notify me later to register, never register or have already
registered.

Regardless of options chosen once you shutdown the Office package the next time
you call it up it presents you with the Open Office splash screen, you see the
frame starting and then the office package dies with no error message of any kind.

I am running Mandrake 8.2 with an ext3 file system on a Pentium 200 mmx with 300
megs of ram.

I have also experienced this problem with version 1.0.0 of Open Office and went
to 1.0.1 in hopes of not running into the same thing. I used to run Open Office
on Mandrake 8.1 version 1.0.0 with a Reiserfs and never experienced this
problem. I am not sure if this is a distro issue, file system issue or a bug in
Open Office.

I will be changing both distro and file system in the near future and
reinstalling Open Office with hopes that this bug will no longer be an issue.

Currently the only solution is to do a complete uninstall of Open Office and
re-install the package in order to get limited useage. Once the registration
screen appears the package will cease to work.

Are using the downloaded OOo files? If not please try to reproduce
with the original OOo installation files. On my mandrake 8.2 machine
OOo will still work after confirming the registratiojn dialog.

Closing issue due to inactivity as WFM.

Please open a new issue if the problem still exists in the latest
release of OOo.
