Could you please give more info? Please send me the following: 1) The locale you're running the program in: $ locale 2) Version of Kernel version of Linux (eg 2.4) $ uname -a 3) Linux distribution (eg RH 6.3) $ more /etc/redhat-release The message comes from vcl/X11 part and indicates that you have set a locale that your operating system does not support. After emitting this warning it switches to the portable "C" or "POSIX" locale. By no means will it preventing OOo from starting up. You should set the locale to the language that 1st: is supported by your OS AND by your XWindow system 2nd: that you understand :-) As Bustamam already mentioned you get your current locale settings from issuing the command "locale" from a shell/terminal. It does not mean that the given locale is supported by your OS :-( . You should be able to change the language from your login-screen, unfortunately some Linux systems are broken as this is concerned (e.g. RedHat 7.1 Japanese). best regards Christof As an update... I tried installing the 627 build as -net (as with soffice) but when I tried to launch it as a user I got (this time) no i18N error message, but simply "Aborted." Guess the -net install isn't finalized yet? In any case it seems the locale was just an incidental problem and not the cause of the aborted launch, so I guess I'll close the issue. Alright, I'll close this issue The Issue you raised has been marked as 'Resolved' and not updated within the last 1 year+. I am therefore setting this issue to 'Verified' as the first step towards Closing it. If you feel this is incorrect, please re-open the issue and add any comments. Many thanks, Andrew Cleaning-up and Closing old Issues ~ The Grand Bug Squash, pre v3 ~ http://marketing.openoffice.org/3.0/announcementbeta.html As per previous posting: Verified -> Closed. A Closed Issue is a Happy Issue (TM). Regards, Andrew |
