Word File
I just attached a file that crashes open office and my entire system, however I have noticed that open office takes down my system at other times like changing fonts. Thanks for any help That's not a word document, its an abiword document, did you attach the wrong one ? Created attachment 3562 [details]
Word File
Sorry I just sent the proper file. Thank you for using and supporting OOo. A few things. The file you attached has a virus ( at least it tripped up McAfee over here ). Please also attach the file using the binary file type. -> Jim: You write "crashes my computer" - Does "only" OO.org crash or the whole system? I tried a 642 Build on Windows and it opened fine. -> Gordon: About McAfee's warning: There are macros in the document, maybe that's why... Reassigned to Michael. McAfee said it found a Word macro virus. Could be a false alarm, but I'd double check the file before opening it up in Word, The file contains the "W97M.Thus.A" virus. Thus I will not open it with MS Word anyway! But. At the moment I am not able to double the crash with OpenOffice. Tested ist with Windows systems and a RedHat 6.2. Try it later on a Redhat 7.2. Hm, I do not have any problems loading the file with OpenOffice 1.0.0 or 1.0.2 on my RedHat 7.2 box. Lumina, was the openOffice version you installed delivered together with your Linux distribution? If so, could you please try if you can open your files with the version downloadable from OpenOffice.org? Thank you very much! There were several problems roported regarding crashes of OO1.0.1 or 1.0.2 on Linux systems. These have been fixed for 1.0.3 and 1.1 Beta (and newer, of course). Thus I close this issue. Closed. |
