I just exited Zone Alarm and database access worked as expected. I then exited Open Office, restarted Zone Alarm, and open Open Office. Database Access worked. It seems that it is the first connection to the database system that is affected even though I tell the Firewall to let the connection through. Why is there a connection trying to take place anyway? There are no foreign databases. Changing to correct subcomponent. This seems to be working now that I have upgraded to build 643c. I believe a database access change was made. > This seems to be working now that I have upgraded to build 643c. I

this is great to hear, though I am not aware of any concrete change
for this bug (neither in database access nor anywhere else).
