I had OO 1.0.1 for Redhat 7.3 working normally but I upgraded to Redhat 8.0.

When I tried to run OO I got the splash screen (OpenOffice.org 1.0) and then a
pop up window with the following message "An unrecoverable error has ocurreded.
 All modified files have been saved and can probably be recovered at program
restart.  <<ok>>"

installed as root  ./setup -net  full installation
installed as my user ./setup workstation

I have uninstall and install several times but doesn't work.  Going back to 7.3
is not an option because I have so many customizations on my HD that it will be
very painful to start over with a clean slate.

Any help will be appreciated.

Known issue. But why should this be an OOo issue? You say it will run
on RH 7.3 but not 8.0. Why not saying that RH has changed something
that prevents OOo from starting? When OOo 1.0.1 was released, we can't
check it on 8.0.
