Description gdurieux 2007-09-25 19:09:33 UTC
i would like that the word list who are in the autocorrection list can be save.
Because i use that for disable people who can type more faster with this option.
The problem actually is that when you put off the computer, this list is erased.

this sure is the wrong component.
Comment 2 kla 2007-09-26 13:21:49 UTC
@SBA: i think you are the correct owner.

SBA: The lists on tab "Replace" and "Exceptions do get saved.
Therefore I guess you are talking about the Word Completion list. (Rightmost tab
in dialog tools-autocorrect). That list does get flushed on Office restart.
 => Changed summary

SBA: For privacy and scurity reasons ("unwanted proposals" popping up in the
next sesion), this can be "by default", thus an option, thus requiring newly
implemented UI. => Issue type changed to "feature".

Note: As a workaround, you can save and re-use the list:
 - [When the list is filled (before ending the Office...)]
 - New Writer document
 - Tools-AutoCorrect, tab "Word Completion"
 - Select the entire "Word Replacemet" list
 - Copy
 - Close dialog
 - Paste list into document
 - Save document
End Office session.

When restarting the Office, open the document with the list
-> The words get into the list immeadiately

Ooops, small correction:

WRONG:
... this can be "by default", thus an option,..."
CORRECT:
... this can NOT be "by default", thus an option..."

I wish you could copy the Word Completion list, but both Ctrl-Ins and Ctrl-C
fail to copy it and right-clicking simply toggles whether a given word is selected.

I thought there was an older issue # for this (at least a couple of years old),
but can't seem to find it now. The closest I can find is 20268, where the
decision was to alter the text "When closing a document, save the list for later
use in other documents." instead of altering the functionality. Could the older
number have been deleted?

Correction, I think this is the issue I was thinking of, I just thought it had a
lower number.

But you really can't copy the Word Completion list...
Comment 7 sgt_sargent 2010-04-02 04:37:02 UTC
Alright, looks like you can copy and paste the Word Completion list... but only
to another Writer window, not to other programs. And Ctrl-Ins (to copy and
Shift-Ins to paste) works just as well as Ctrl-C.

More than 10 years later, the bug is still open?
