When attempting to set up access via unixODBC to a postgresql database,
OpenOffice.org 1.0.1 responds with a message box "Could not load the program
library libodbc.so or it is corrupted. The ODBC data source selection is not
available".

Version 1.0.0 works fine.

To reproduce: select Tools -> Data Sources, New Data Source, enter a name,
select a Database type of ODBC, then select the "..." button. The above message
box pops up.

System: RedHat 7.3, with locally compiled kernel 2.4.19. UnixODBC 2.2.0
installed from Red Hat provided RPM. PostgreSQL 7.2.1 installed (on the same
machine) from Red Hat provided RPM.

Hi Marc,

could you have a look at the problem,

Dirk

This can be resolved by symlinking libodbc.so to /bin sub-directory of
OpenOffice instalation directory.
Comment 3 ocke.janssen 2002-10-16 14:40:47 UTC
You have to set a symbolic to libodbc.so.1 to make it work.

Best regards,
Ocke
