Description mdekkers 2002-09-02 16:42:14 UTC
Hi,

As we all know, spam and virusses are increasingly arriving on our lists.
http://www.roaringpenguin.com/mimedefang/ is a very good solution for this, and
I urge you to consider this for immediate implementation. There are (obviously)
other solutions, but this will sort out the issues rather quickly.

Cheers,

Martijn

This looks like a dup of bug 2986 (Spam on mailing lists).
Comment 2 lsuarezpotts 2002-09-09 22:29:11 UTC
accepted and passed on link to CN ops. There is a fix on the way.
the issue is not actually fixing the code to limit attachments, etc.,
but rather to incorporate the fix into the core product so that it
works and is not lost with any future upgrade.

we are working on doing that now.
thanks, Martijn,
Louis

I sent the link to our engineer and his reaction was that it was
interesting but it would be simpler just to fix the attachment issue
directly than install & test the app.
Figure, all the same, no solution implemented for at least a month or
so, but you never know.
I don't, anyway.
Best

Louis, could you mention the PCN# in the field "Status Whiteboard" and
give a release, if available. Thanks, Stefan.
Comment 5 lsuarezpotts 2002-09-10 23:36:10 UTC
Hi, Stefan,
Sure.
But I cannot speak to the actual resolution deadline.

This is hardly an overhanging prio 1 any longer.
