Description Unknown 2002-09-01 13:51:41 UTC
A while ago I installed openoffice.org 1.0.1. (Multiuser installation). The
post-installation setup had some anomalies (reported separately) but I was
subsequently able to use openoffice.org's spreadsheet.
But today, I type ./soffice from the OpenOffice.org1.0.1 directory, and the
OpenOffice splash bitmap appears, but then it just quits without trace. No
diagnostics, nothing - at least not in the xterm session I started it from.

My installation is on Debain Linux Woody (the official release installed from CDs).

This problem obviously makes OpenOffice.org unusable.

Found a workaround:
I just read the comments for another issue and tried:
unset SESSION_MANAGER
./soffice

and it started OK. (I am running Gnome.)
