I do:
soffice http://per.bothner.com/XQ-Gen-Bad.doc
I then File->Save As, change the file type to
"OpenOffice.org 1.0 Text Document", change the
filename to /tmp/foo.sxw, hit save, and am told
"An unrecoverable error has occurred."

This is on Red Hat 7.3, for i386.

Thanks for posting the issue Per.

Unfortunately, I was unable to duplicate your error.

I downloaded your file, and saved it in a random directory in the OO
format without any difficulties. I followed your instructions to save
the file in /tmp/foo.sxw and I did not have any difficulties.

I'm closing the issue, but if you can reproduce the error
consistently, post a comment to this issue.

Unable to duplicate on RedHat 7.3, OO 1.0, Gnome.
