According to the description, I changed component from UI to installation and subcomponent from UI to code. Reassigned to Olaf. I can't reproduce this OOo behaviour: when I call ./soffice without a workstation installation I'll get a messegebox 'The application cannot be started', no matter if I'm root or user. That the expected behaviour of OOo641C. Please give me more information: - which linux distribution - which OOo version do you use? Do you use a downloaded version or did you build it yourself? I'm using Mandrake Linux version 8.1 and the latest download binary of OO - 641c. I'm not sure what causes the error when I preform a root installation. I installed to /user/local/OpenOffice. When I install as a user in the users home directory I don't get an unrecoverable error but I still get ./soffice: //HACK: No such file or directory sh: /usr/sbin/lpc: No such file or directory sh: lpc: command not found sh: lpstat: command not found Just no abort.
