Description awilisch 2002-01-15 14:00:01 UTC
If I try to install Openoffice on Redhat 7.2 the installation hangs the entire
workstation. I've found that this only happens with XFRee 4 but works fine with
XFree 3.3 (discovered while installing on Mandrake Linux 8.1 and switching
between xservers).

Joost->Aric:
please provide some information about your graphics hardware and about
the installed XFree86 extensions which you get with xdpyinfo

On my RH 7.2 OOo641c is working fine. The only (known) problem I could reproduce: OOo
doesn't start if KDE was on the left side of your screen: move your KDE panel to the
bottom and OOo will start.
So => works for me.

I hope you have seen that this issue is closed since 17 ! years. So, nothing more will happen here. ;-)
