A shrink/expand to fit option would be handy (WordPerfect has such a very useful
and much used option): Font sizes, line spacing, margins etc. can be
automatically adjusted (user's choice) to shrink or expand to a set of nicely
filled pages.
E.g. 5 pages document, with 3 lines orphaning on the last page could be shrinked
to  4 fully filled pages with a slightly smaller font size.

Something like this for both columns and pages has been requested repeatedly. 
To be fully equivalent to Word, it would have to permit auto-resizing of single
pages or columns as well as the entire document.  I believe that there is a
limit, for example, it will not resize four pages to two as the font size would
be way too small.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
