Description rturnbull1977 2003-12-18 17:56:05 UTC
Word 6.0 document footers are not coming through the import correctly. The
footer on the bottom of page 1 is correct, however strange things happen on
page 2. Every even page the footer is in the incorrect position and not all the
information is being displayed. This is a problem with StarOffice 7 so I hope
this is the correct location to get support for this. Thanks!

Reassigned to MRU
Comment 3 michael.ruess 2004-01-22 09:33:53 UTC
Hm, this should also happen with OO 1.1.
From the attached file I can see, that something happens... please attach the
original .doc file (not the .sxw, which already contains the wrong imported
formattings) so that we can see what's going wrong during the import process.
Feel free to re-open the issue when you have done so!
Thanks for supporting us!

When opening the attached .doc, the footer exactly looks like when opening the
file in MS Word. Could it be that you attached the wrong document?
Comment 7 rturnbull1977 2004-01-23 16:11:16 UTC
Sorry about that. The text that was in the document I can't have "live" on the
net. What I would do though is open the .doc file in word and add some text to
the document to make it go into PAGE 2 or PAGE 3. Once the text is there and
the footer has counted up to 3 of 3, then import the document with Staroffice
and you should see the error. If the page is 1 of 1, of course it works fine,
that isn't the issue. The issue is that its not importing properly the footer
when the document is 1+ pages long.

Yes, I understand. But here, StarOffice can't do anything... The document's page
count in your document has been entered as plain text (not as a dynamic field)
and so there will be always the same page count in the footer, regardless how
long the document is...

Closed. Not a bug.
