Header in existing Excel spreadsheet is corrupted by OOo 1.1 RC5 (also happened
in RC3). Arial Bold 10 on string "84th Scout Troop..." turns into Arial Bold
409 on string "th Scout Troop...". Not sure exactly when it happens but it has
happened several times.

Almost forgot, hit Page Preview or Export to PDF and all you get is
the first 't' of the header displayed. Footer seems to be okay but
it's just set to 'Page #'. If I then open the corrupted file in Excel
2000, I can fix the header field to the correct font size and then
Open Office is fine. I received the original file from someone else
and am unsure as to whether it was Excel 95, 97 or 2K.

Hi,

just fine to have the resulting Excel file, but we need the original
one too. So please attach the file in question.

Thanks.

Frank

After corruption of header
Comment 6 Unknown 2003-10-14 09:49:39 UTC
Tried to recreate the problem following the steps that I had taken
with OOo 1.1 RC3. I had a multi-tab spreadsheet. I copied/pasted one
sheet into a new file/sheet. Copy/pasted header info too. It worked
fine. Saved to file. Opened again with OOo but no corruption this
time. I just kept closing/opening the file and on one open, the
header is corrupted. The change I made was to remove the leading
space on the header line. I am opening/saving the file as xls format
(changed the default save type). Sending before (test1) and after
(test2) files. The only difference is supposedly the leading space on
the header line.

One question - is there a way to fix the corrupted header section in
OOo? I tried highliting the center header field and changing the font
in OOo but it didn't help. I had to open the file in Excel 2K before
I could highlite all of the header text and change the font.

Hi Daniel,

as discussed re-assigning to you.

Frank

PS. AFAIR this could be a double.

Fixed in OOo 1.1.1

Quick workaround for OOo 1.1.0: Add a space character in front of
"84th", before saving to Excel.
