After editing text in a text object, the presentation program crashes 
spectacularly.  No input is accepted from the mouse or keyboard, except 
ctrl-alt-del (logging me out of KDE).  Can't even get to the other login 
terminals (ctrl-alt-Fx).  The text object handles are changed but 
do not go away.  Imported presentation from .sdd then saved as .sxi.  Will try 
creating .sxi from scratch.

I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce this crash in an 638c under Linux with KDE. Are there certain actions performed that lead to the crash or do you have a special document where the crash happens?
